Honoring Truth and Reconciliation

On Monday, September 29th, our school gathered in the gym for a special assembly led by a member of Pabineau First Nation to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students and staff took time to listen, reflect, and learn about the importance of truth, healing, and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation. We are grateful for the meaningful stories and teachings shared with our school community.

A Hands-On Journey Through Acadian History

On September 12, our French Immersion students enjoyed an engaging trip to the Village Historique Acadien. Students toured the site to learn about daily life in the past, including how schools once operated, and they noticed how homes changed over time as they walked through the village. The day also included some fun outdoor playtime at the park.

Highlights included:

  • Sitting inside an old-fashioned schoolhouse
  • Observing the ducks by the water
  • Exploring homes from different time periods

It was a wonderful mix of history, culture, and community.

Walking Together for Terry Fox!

Today our school community came together to honor Terry Fox and his mission to raise awareness for cancer research. Students started with a warm-up led by Mme. Nikki, sang the national anthem, and then walked the oval in support of this important cause.

We would like to thank parents, guardians, and family members who joined us to walk alongside the students. A special thank you goes to Jameson, Malcolm, Nick, Cohen, Tyson, and Zack from the Chaleur Lightning for joining us today. Our students were so excited to meet members of the team ahead of their inaugural game tomorrow – we’re thrilled to have you in town and around our school community!

Finally, a big thank you to Mme. Nikki and Mme. Kal for organizing such a meaningful event.

Emergency Preparedness in Action

This week, we wrapped up practicing our emergency protocols — including fire drills, lockdowns, and evacuations — with a whole-school evacuation. Our students did an excellent job following directions and staying safe. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation and teamwork!
